Doc's Flag Raising Ceremony
July 4th, 2008

Every year on Independence Day, Doc's celebrates the retiring of our American, POW-MIA and H.O.G. Chapter flags administrated by our H.O.G. Chapter and replaces them with new ones. In addition to the changing of the flags flying high over the dealership and their proper retirement, we add several other quick ceremonies to commemorate those who have served our country in the past as well as praise and pray for the safe return of our active military.

Customers came from far and wide to join the members of the active military, American Legion Post, the Vietnam Vets Motorcycle Club, the Warrior Brotherhood and many other local veterans organizations to retire the flags which have served us so well flying over and protecting Doc's for the year.

In addition this year featured live music by the Air National Guard Band of the Central States Strike Eagle Brass Quintet as well as live performance of the National Anthem which featured special guests Colin Read and Iain Whyte from Kilts Across America (see below) reading the rarely referred to second verse of the National Anthem, a stanza which rings timeless and true of our great nation, especially in this day and age.

Flags are inspected for retirement and burned in standard patriotic fashion. In addition, customers bring their old and worn out flags to Doc's to give them a proper send off with military style honors from our veterans in attendance.

Free Hot Dogs and soda were served to all those who attended this special occasion.

Fallen Heroes Ride
May 18th, 2008

Almost 600 riders joined Doc's, a number of area restaurants and bands for the first Fallen Heroes Ride to benefit Backstoppers, Inc. Backstoppers is an organization dedicated to providing funds to the families of Police Officers and Firefighters killed in the line of duty.

$23,470.00 was raised in total from registration fees, t-shirt sales, ride pins and food and beverage sales after the ride. Special thanks to PJ's Tavern, Richard's Ribs, Maggie O' Briens and Hooters of St. Charles for donating net proceeds of food and beverage sales. Doc's donated a portion of Saturday and Sunday sales to benefit the cause as well, covered the cost of the t-shirts and a portion of the ride pins. Thanks to Global Products, Inc. for the amazing design and donating a portion of the cost of the ride pin as well. All net proceeds from everyone involved were donated to Backstoppers.

The first event was dedicated to the memory of Kirkwood Police Officers Sergeant William Biggs, Officer Tom Ballman and Sergeant William McEntee all of which lost their lives in service to our beloved city of Kirkwood.

Thank you to all who traveled near and far to be a part of this very special occasion.

Doc's Fall Open House
October 13th, 2007

Everybody had a great time at Doc's Fall Open House Extravaganza! From tattoos and piercings on-site to getting up close and personal with the monster truck that started it all, the legendary BIGFOOT, there was plenty to do and see.

While we enjoyed a brief light rain in the middle of the day, that didn't bother folks checking out Pik'n Lik'n under Doc's tent or the people grabbing a free bite to eat at Doc's first pig roast. Adult beverages were provided by Kirkwood's own Alandale Brewery.

Comic book legend and writer of the original Ghost Rider, Gary Friedrich, was on hand to take pictures with the character and sign autographs.

Despite having all of the activities our Fall Open House was for a great cause, the James S. McDonnell USO which provides travel support and comfort for our troops going abroad and returning home. Together we raised over $1,700 through soda and food donations combined with Doc's insane bike bash.

Established in 1955, Doc's celebrated 50 years of serving the St. Louis area and the legacy of "Doc" and "Toots" Schneidewind when they entered into the motorcycle business 50 years ago.

The two day event drew over 7,000 people from all over the country to enjoy the Teresi Dyno Drags, live music and food from 7 area restaurants.

In addition, patrons had a chance to meet Jimmy Bedford, Head Distiller for Jack Daniels, signing Doc's 50th Anniversary commemorative bottles, Jean Davidson, granddaughter of Walter Davidson, Scott Jacobs and Dennis Jackson, world famous Harley-Davidson artists and painters. In attendance, Petty Racing, Adler Racing, the Missouri Bikini Team, Hooters Girls, Gateway Girls, the girls from Wide Open and a number of senior executives from Harley-Davidson in Milwaukee. To cap the event off, a professional fireworks show was launched from the roof at Doc's for spectators on Saturday night!

The event was such an amazing success, Patty has decided to make it an annual event. Please join us in 2006 to celebrate the next 50 years!

Kirkwood H.O.G. Fallen Soldier Tribute
April 30th, 2005

When Gateway International Raceway wanted to honor the 90 fallen soldiers from Missouri and Illinois in the Spring of 2005, they called Doc's with a unique idea.

After hearing Gateway's idea to represent the 90 fallen soldiers with 90 motorcycles, each carrying an American Flag, Doc's called Kirkwood H.O.G. to find volunteers to get it done.

Each of the riders carried a small American flag around the track for one lap before the Craftsman Truck race to be held that evening. With a quiet moment for tribute, family members and friends of the soldiers had a moment to receive honor for their loved ones contributions in defense of our freedoms.

This was a very moving display of honor and Doc's would like the thank our H.O.G. chapter for their efforts in making this a fantastic tribute!

Mona at Doc's

A good friend of Doc's and avid Harley enthusiast, Mona from Sammy Hagar's Band was in town to put on a show, but she started the weekend here at Doc's signing autographs and kicking off Doc's first Ride to Rock.

Doc's gave away 100 tickets for Sammy Hagar's show to 50 lucky winners. Each winner was invited to meet at Doc's before the show and ride out together to UMB Bank Pavilion and park in Doc's VIB parking.

While Mona was here, customers were treated to a custom bike show featuring some of the areas top customs. They were invited to vote and 3 winners were selected by Peoples Choice.

February 21st, 2005

12 hours of insanity! Doc's was open from Noon to Midnight for a shopping extravaganza.

In addition to shopping for all things Harley, customers had a chance to meet, greet and get an autograph from our very own hometown Playboy playmate, Jillian Grace!

Doc's would like to thank everyone who came to be a part of one of our grandest events, Midnight Madness. We would also like to wish Jillian well on her bid for Playmate of the Year.

Customer Appreciation Day

The Ladies of Harley's Chili was hot but the savings at Doc's were even hotter. After customers bought their presents they could have them giftwrapped by the Ladies of Harley for a small donation to the Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Foundation. Santa even found time in his busy schedule to stop by Doc's to wish everyone a Merry Christmas! Happy Holidays!
