Also have 2 friends that bought Sportsters from <another dealer> didn’t show them how to operate vehicles or even give them an owner’s manual on brand new bikes.

First of all Doc’s Harley-Davidson is an extremely fun place to go into, even if you aren’t purchasing (open houses, stopping in to say hi, etc.) When you do go in to make a purchase, whether it’s a bike, parts, clothes or whatever, the entire staff is extremely helpful and knowledgeable.

Todd Bond was my salesperson and I could not have asked for a better person to deal with. Over the years my wife and I have made numerous purchases – motorcycles, trucks, appliances, etc. and this was bar none the BEST sales experience we have ever had. He went out of his way before, during and after the sale to make it an enjoyable, pleasant experience. One issue during the beginning of the initial process was brought to his attention by me and he handled it quickly, professionally and to a very pleasant end. The night of the sale went perfect. Jon in MotorClothes made sure we were satisfied with my wife’s new wardrobe and Zach in parts made sure that the upgrades to the exhaust were handled to perfection. The mechanic (I can’t remember his name) made an adjustment to the heat shields to my satisfaction. Last but certainly not least, Steve in parts took all the time I needed on some further upgrades after the sale as well.

I shopped at 4 different Harley dealerships for the same bike that I bought and the only difference was the cost of setting up the bike, there was only $70 difference between Doc’s and another dealership. The two other ones were $500 instead of a little over $100 which I thought $500 to setup the bike was ridiculous. I’m a price shopper and I’m only going to buy where I would save some money. It’s none of my business but I don’t see how the other dealership sells any bikes charging that much for setup. Also Doc’s was the only dealer that offered to deliver the bike to my home which they did and I really appreciated it. They were very nice to deal with.

I would never recommend (another dealer) to others due to: 1) required to fill out dealer survey before sale was complete, 2) when working with salesman from sales office to shop the owner stopped the salesman and I to discuss some other item with salesman, and neither introduced themselves to me – keep in mind I just dropped $18,400 PLUS on a new bike, 3) while shopping for a helmet, the parts guy was in-attentive and almost rude (again-I just spent $18k).

On some questions I feel only being able to give a 10 wasn’t high enough. Doc’s and their personnel are 10’s at least. The day I took my bike home I was telling everyone to see my salesman Todd Bond. Not that the other salesmen aren’t on his level, just he’s the only one I’ve dealt with. I’ve been to three other H-D dealerships and I wouldn’t buy anything from them! No one I know of treats people like Doc’s. I’ve been back to Doc’s a handful of times since my purchase and called a few times for questions and to say that they have been phenomenal is an understatement. I have always known Doc’s as the place to go but to be fair I went to a few other places first.

I shopped or check(ed) prices at all Harley dealers in the St. Louis area. Best deal I found at Doc’s. (another dealer) and (another dealer) wanted $289 for paperwork. What a ripoff!!! Free at Doc’s. (another dealer) and (another dealer) played games about my trade in. Made me wait for 1.5-2 hours for trade-in price. At Doc’s 15 minutes and I got their price. Plus I had other people tell me good things about Doc’s. (another dealer) I didn’t even check prices there. Been there several times before I found them lacking. I have rode motorcycles close to 35 years. First Harley I have owned. In the 70’s & 80’s you couldn’t give me one. Seen too many broke down on the side of the road. Plus pulled my brother on his home several times. I got one now because the price in the stores isn’t way over MSRP. Plus before dealers wanted $1,000’s more to put you ahead of others on waiting list. Get back to me later. I ride a lot and I will see how this bike is.

Doc’s was $500 higher than the other dealer but I’m glad I bought mine at Doc’s. This was the most honest purchase I have ever made. I tried to catch them screwing me but they never did. Any flaw or additional costs that I couldn’t understand was explained to me in a honest, professional manner. This is my 3rd purchase of a bike at Doc’s H-D what a great dealership! Doc’s H-D provides “great service” before, during and after the sale. A great staff that fulfills all my riding needs – should be the benchmark for other dealerships.

I purchased my 2006 Softail standard from (another dealer) in (another town), Missouri. At two different occasions I took the bike there for problems I was told there was nothing wrong with the bike; the way it was running or handling. I was told they had to adjust the throttle because I used the installed throttle stop.

I was not satisfied with the operations of the bike or their explanations. I took it to Doc’s Harley-Davidson in Kirkwood, Missouri. They took the time to listen to my concerns. They found a few things that were causing my bike to run hot and have operating problems on the road. As per the work order checked scans values, all within specifications, the work order reads. Checked front end fall away. Steering bearings slightly loose adjusted and replaced steering nut lock washer. Checked running condition and found ECM calibration had had available upgrades and found PCIII map to be incorrect for a 04 Dyna with stock air cleaner and exhaust and throttle position not set PCIII also had old firmware version which was upgraded before remapping. Remapping PCIII with more comparable map, reset throttle position and enabled Rev-X-Tend function.

Now for what I was told by (another dealer) saying there was nothing wrong with the bike there were a lot of repairs done. Now it sounds like a Harley and handles much better. My question is how they can say they are a Harley dealer. There is only 1 mechanic that does not seem to do a very good job. The shop manager apparently doesn’t know what is going on either.

I know if I have any more work done on my Harley it will go to Doc’s Harley-Davidson. It might be a 21 mile ride but at least fix the bike not try to (#%$&) me that there is no problems they were up front and straightforward with me. They have started a pickup service now so the winter weather does not stop me from getting things done and I’m ready when the warm weather gets here.
